We are offering the following pre-conference workshops on Wednesday 3 December 2008. These all day workshops will be hands-on practical / interactive sessions for participants to develop skills and knowledge on a particular topic. To allow everyone to get the most from these workshops, the number of participants will be strictly limited.

Workshop 1 - An introduction to the world of tactile graphics.

Workshop 2 - From real objects to tactile graphics: Designing, making and using simple but effective tactile resources for young children.

Workshop 3 - Advanced tactile graphic design workshop: for those with some experience wishing to develop their skills. [Fully booked]

All pre-conference workshops will be held at the Jurys Inn Birmingham.

Workshop Rates and Concessions

Workshops cost £165 + VAT to attend, and a concession rate of £130 + VAT is available, unfortunately we are not able to offer a further early bird discount for pre-conference workshops.

Included in your workshop fee:

  • Attendance at workshop sessions
  • Morning and afternoon refreshment breaks
  • Buffet lunch
  • All workshop materials
  • Requested accessibility support

Not included in the workshop fee:

  • Accommodation
  • Breakfast
  • Evening meals
  • Transportation costs
  • Travel insurance

Concessions are available for the following groups:

  • Students in full time education - please send us a letter from the course tutor on headed paper confirming you are a full time student
  • Registered unemployed - please bring proof of status to the conference registration desk
  • Over 60 - please bring proof of age to the conference registration desk (passport, birth certificate or driving licence)

Failure to supply the appropriate documentation will result in additional charges to cover the regular registration rate. Please note that there are no other concessions available to individuals or organisations.

Booking a Workshop

Workshop places are strictly limited. Please book early to avoid disappointment. All delegates booking on to a workshop will receive confirmation of their place in their desired workshop by e-mail.

To book a workshop place, please complete the Workshop section on the main conference booking form. You do not need to attend the main conference to attend a workshop, although it may be beneficial to do both.
