Abstract:

Tactile Vision Inc. produces Tactile Graphics using modified thermographic equipment and a new thermographic powder which was developed internally. This powder produces raised images and Braille which can easily be read tactually.

Materials produced assist the visually impaired to increase their functional level in education, to enhance their knowledge of their environment and to enjoy greater involvement in the community.

Most of the work at Tactile Vision involves the production of Tactile Graphics included in University textbooks, Standardised Testing Materials, training materials for Government Agencies and Business. Tactile Vision also has a line of products such as maps, greeting cards and children's books sold directly from the company and through distributors in the US and the UK.

In addition, Tactile Vision offers organisations the opportunity to license the technology. This provides access to the special powder and consultation on the printing process and design of materials to produce the best results.
