The National Centre for Tactile Diagrams offers a range of training
and consultancy which can be tailored for the needs of individuals
or groups. Topics covered can range from how to meet the requirements
of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) through the implementation
of tactile materials, to the development of practical skills to
produce and support tactile graphics.

Current Courses:
Consultancy
NCTD staff are available to visit organisations, groups and businesses
to give presentations, workshops or advice on a consultancy basis
for those who wish to learn about how they might improve their
products or services, and achieve DDA compliance with the addition
of tactile graphics and supporting materials. Please contact
us to discuss your requirements.
General Open Days
For people who have had little or no experience of tactile graphics,
we hold Open Days for people to come and explore a wide variety
of tactile diagrams and maps. Its a good chance to learn
what tactile diagrams can offer, and how they might benefit you.
We are restricted in the number of places we can offer for open
days, and as a result we do not publicise them on this site. To arrange
a visit to the Centre please contact
us.
Training Courses and Workshops
We run training courses and workshops related to all aspects
of design, use and support of tactile graphics. For people who
feel their tactile diagram skills are a little rusty and would
like to brush up their skills, or the complete novice who is just
starting in the field, we can design and deliver courses to suit.
Information about the courses we are currently planning will be
published on this site. Specialist training and support is available
in our Training and Resource Centre, where we can teach you tactile
graphic design skills, and how to produce accessible materials
for blind people. If you are interested in a course on a particular
theme which is not currently listed on this site please get
in touch and we will be happy to discuss the options with
you.
