CGP: Psychology
10 Uses

10 Suggested uses for your Core Graphics Pack (CGP): Psychology

1. Keep a CGP in your Department to demonstrate your compliance with Disability Legislation in anticipating and meeting the needs of a blind or partially sighted student

2. Think of it as an accessible textbook - give a CGP to any blind or partially sighted psychology student to keep for the duration of their course to use in lectures, seminars and in private study

3. Remember a student needs the whole pack as they need to access the text on the CD as well as use the diagrams – they may wish to give the print pack to their lecturer or sighted assistant to give them additional support if needed.

4. Use the CGP as a staff development resource to learn how to deliver accessible learning and teaching for blind and partially sighted students

5. Keep a CGP in your Department for reference by staff to help them provide access to specific diagrams/topics as and when needed.

6. For a partially sighted student select large print images from the CD to print out on A4 or enlarge onto A3 paper according to the student’s individual needs

7. Lodge a CGP in the University Library and alert students, library and teaching staff to its availability and uses

8. Show the CGP at induction sessions for new staff – promote accessible materials and accessible learning and teaching methods

9. Use the materials and guidelines in this pack as models to help you to develop further resources to meet the needs of blind and partially sighted students

10. Be proactive – adding resources like this, and using the guidance to build accessibility into your own resources during development is much easier than trying to adapt them afterwards
