Tactile Graphics Services for Organisations

The provision of tactile graphics enables your organisation to meet the needs of your blind and partially sighted employees, visitors, customers and consumers, and can help you to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.

Meeting your needs

The NCTD offers a wide range of services to assist organisations in meeting the needs of their employees, consumers, and customers in a variety of environments, for example:

  • tactile maps of sites and buildings improve independent orientation and navigation
  • tactile pictures of works of art and museum exhibits can allow enjoyment of that which would otherwise be inaccessible
  • tactile graphics provide vital access to graphical business information such as charts of management structure and work flow
  • maps of parks, countryside walks, and tourist areas
  • when working with computers, tactile graphics can rapidly assist the learning of new keyboard and screen layouts
  • layouts of buttons on public machines such as cash dispensers and ticket machines

Options for all requirements and budgets

The NCTD can provide a wide variety of tactile graphics from hand held sheets to durable signs, in any quantity. Some of the methods we use are limited to large quantities as the cost is sometimes prohibitive.

"I really appreciated the tactile floor plan with an audio description, it gave me a really clear idea of the layout of the building, and of each room." AS - blind individual.

We also offer access packs for the most comprehensive accessibility solution. Containing any combination of braille, moon, large print, audio cassette as well as tactile and large print graphics, the access pack is designed to be a one stop tool to meet all of your requirements for access to information.

Thanks to generous sponsorship from the Herobc project and the Kirby Laing Foundation we are able to offer our services to organisations at a subsidised rate.

For details about ordering please visit our how to place and order page. We host a catalogue of tactile graphics available to purchase. We also offer training in all areas associated with the production, use and support of tactile graphics.

If you would like to discuss any of the services which we can offer, from a simple diagram to a complete access pack please contact us.
