This presentation will include information about the German Central Library for the Blind (DZB) – the only one in Germany, which is an all-in-one library, publishing house and a production centre.
It will give an overview about the relief techniques of DZB. It will show the development process, and describe the technique of computer-controlled plotter cutting and its advantages for the production process.
Finally information will be given about the newest project “world atlas”. It can be used by blind, partially sighted and sighted people alike and you can choose between a German and an English version. See how it was possible to create an atlas in different languages with one stencil for all versions.
