Title: Advanced tactile graphic design workshop: for those with some experience wishing to develop their skills.

Please Note: this workshop is now fully booked. Please contact us if you would like to be added to the “Reserve List” for this workshop.

Presenters: Alan Waller, with Claire Jones and Martin Fuller
Organisation: Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), UK

This workshop is aimed at people who have some tactile graphic design experience and have produced tactile images.

The presenters will share the tips and techniques used in professional tactile graphic design to demonstrate principles of good practice. The content of the workshop will also be guided by the needs and interests of those attending.

A tactile image can only communicate information successfully if it has been planned, designed, produced, supported and read effectively. The workshop will offer a comprehensive structured approach to cover all aspects of tactile graphic design.

Examples showing various design and production quality principles will be available for discussion and critique.

Participants are encouraged to bring examples of their own work, as finished products, works in progress or as images yet to be converted; particularly if they are challenging tactile designs, for immediate advice and discussion. Successful solutions can be shared with the group, and there may be a new solution found for the not so successful attempts!
