TellMate is an assistive technology product created to enable people with vision problems to access information from tactile diagrams or objects. With RFID technology, this palm size device enables you to create your own object identification (ID). An RFID tag can be placed on an object, tactile map or diagram at a Point of Interest (POI), each tag has a unique number that is used to reference an audio description stored in the TellMate
The reading method is as simple as having the device scanning over the label and the device will then play the pre-recorded message for the POI in the form of spoken text, music or sounds.
TellMate is a small device, which can be carried around in the pocket, with the ability to create and access identification information and it is integrated with 6 other functions all in one package.
