Title: Tactile graphics: the challenge of low-tech

Abstract:

This presentation will show that while the new developments are very important and necessary, a large part of the world cannot use techniques that require electricity, expensive machines or expensive paper. There are innovative solutions to the many challenges of providing tactile graphics to people who have no access to graphics.

Objectives of presentation:

• To raise awareness of the reality of educating visually impaired learners in developing countries
• To raise awareness of what can be done with simple materials
• To challenge all the developers to come up with techniques suitable for the developing countries
