The feedback has been divided into the following sections:
General Comments
Everyone seemed very friendly and relaxed and helpful to each other I am sure this has been due to the tone set for the whole conference.
The general atmosphere and enthusiasm of everyone I talked to was inspiring.
A very well organised conference in a good accessible venue - very informative - thank you.
So far the best conference I have attended
Had me writing lots of ideas to implement in my country.
The Organiser should be congratulated on their good work. The Conference / Exhibition was the right balance between theoretical and practical issues / products in the tactile graphics field.
Overall Usefulness of the conference
Brilliant. I've come away with a suitcase of information.
I am very enthusiastic to use what I have learned.
Provided an excellent opportunity for like-minded individuals and organisations to share experiences, which can only be beneficial in the long run.
A lot of interesting presentation and exhibitions. I liked the mix of academic research and practitioners.
An excellent opportunity to get a feel for what's going on across the field of Tactile Graphics - production methods, design, use and teaching.
It was, yet again, such a comprehensive package about the tactile world - thank you really very much!
Conference Organisation
First class, superb venue, facilities, staff - everything went smoothly - most impressed.
Very professional, it made the conference a relaxed one to attend.
It was obvious that a lot of time and effort had gone into the conference and it paid off as it went without a hitch.
I thought the volunteers were particularly good, always seeming to be there when I needed them but not trying to force help on me.
Impeccably organised as we've come to expect from the NCTD team!
Usefulness of Presentations
Inspiring and invigorating.
Gave food for thought and stimulated new ideas.
Exciting - would have loved to have gone to them all - so much to learn, see and do, wide range of topics, everyone so enthusiastic (infectious).
I was not there as a professional but they opened my eyes to issues like standardization which had not really occurred to me as a user before.
Most Interesting Sessions
All the sessions I selected were interesting! Especially the ones that took me beyond what I already do.
The opening session was very inspiring.
The speakers are clearly experts in this field.
Least Interesting Sessions
They were equally interesting!
That’s a tough one! They were all useful.
Some stood out, but none of the others were disappointing or irrelevant.
There were so many to choose from, I did not find anything not interesting, I would have liked to be in two places at the same time.
They were all interesting – I could get seriously hooked.
Usefulness of Exhibition
Everyone was most pleasant and willing to share
Some great ideas - good to know what else is around especially from outside the UK
Well laid out and accessible, helpful and enthusiastic exhibitors.
Valuable to both Producers and Consumers to see what the latest trends in TG materials are.
This was really most of what I came for, and the people I met there. I enjoyed being introduced to what is going on around the world in this field.
Will attending Tactile Graphics 2005 help you in your work?
I work with VI children and adults and I can now understand more what the council can do in these areas to be more inclusive.
In my battle for consistency, quality external exams, I will have examples to draw on. I have a clearer idea where I want to go with tactile graphic literacy. I have further details of websites and email addresses that may help me go forward. I am not on my own.
Give me confidence when giving access advice.
New ideas, contacts. Renewed brain! Starved of boredom!
I will try out some of the techniques to teach and produce tactiles and to improve what I already do.
