The purpose of the Reveal Project is to create a database of the holdings of producers and providers of materials for visually impaired people. This database will be web-accessible, for use by individuals and intermediaries. It will also contain details of items in production, to ensure that coverage of titles is not unnecessarily duplicated.
Tactile diagrams, maps and pictures can be recorded on the database, and using the Reveal methodology, collections can be added retrospectively as well as adding new material as it is produced.
The database will give direct access to the full range of materials available
to visually impaired people.
