This presentation will be an overview of the production of tactile diagrams
and illustrations as they are done in New Zealand. Looking at the different
processes and why some are chosen over others.
Decisions that are based on population numbers, location and access to services.
Discuss the use of volunteers, the access to tactile storybooks through a National
Special Formats Library and the Collage Exchange programme.
This discussion will be supported by a display of some of the work produced
by Accessible Format Production, at the Royal New Zealand Foundation for the
Blind.
